Graduation Gift Must Haves in 2022

Graduation gift ideas they're sure to love!

You probably know someone who's graduating this year and that's how you stumbled here.  Well stumble no more because I have had kids around me graduating for what seems like the last 5 years.  Starting with my son Keegan's graduation in 2016, I searched high and low for the best graduation gifts. 

I thought about getting him things that were useful. I thought about buying him experiences of a lifetime. I thought of buying him the basics that he would need in the world like a tool box, tool sets, cooking ware, bathroom sets, etc. Then I thought well that's all cool but what if he wants to pick his own stuff out MOM! Well then maybe we can look at gift card options instead.     

I have put together everything I spent hours searching for into a guide to reference for later and I'm going to share it with you guys!




For graduation parties:

Cold, hard cash delivered creatively with a: 

Gift cards for: You can often find gift cards that will have multiple retailers available on one card.

  • A coffee shop (for those late study nights in college)
  • A restaurant
  • Uber (There are so many reasons for this)
  • Amazon
  • Target
  • Bed, Bath and Beyond 
  • Gas
  • Pizza

Things they'll love:

  • One cup coffee maker
  • Laundry detergent, baskets and quarters- Create a really cute "Basket" with all laundry OR cleaning supplies in it. 
  • Candy bouquet or poster
  • Movie night- Create a movie night basket to include box of popcorn, candy, 2 liter soda or drink of choice, beef jerky, any other snack item)
  • Office supplies in a trash basket- Fill the trash basket full of office supplies- paper clips, stapler, staples, posted notes, highlighters, pens, pencils, erasers, etc)
  • Monthly cookie or treat delivery- What kid doesn't love snacks! I set up for the first year away that my son would get a tub a gummy snacks once a month! lol He loved it!
  • Tool kit- Basic tool box with hammer, nails, screws, picture hangers, command strips, blue painters tape, duct tape, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. 
  • Microwave cooking supplies
  • Ramen cookbook
  • Items from their college- Tshirts, sweatshirts, etc.
  • Travel coffee mug
  • Bottle opener- Take it one step further and personalize something they can hang that has a bottle opener on it.
  • Blank journal- One to take it up a notch... look into leather journals and a really great calligraphy pen or a nice pen set.
  • Spa basket- Anything and everything for the bathroom and beauty care and make sure to include candles.
  • Portable phone speaker
  • Pens and pencils (Trust me)
  • Planner, notepads, daily/weekly calendars, organizers
  • 92 Hour Portable Charger
  • Shower caddy
  • Bucket o' batteries
  • Snack basket- loads these baskets up with all their favorite snacks
  • First aid kit
  • Travel journal- This is a great option!
  • Lunch cooler- Get something that can be taken to a park for a picnic (Include a blanket)
  • Succulent terrarium (or any plant that is unlikely to die or is very low maintenance

Texas A&M's television station, KAMU-TV, will broadcast each of the Reed Arena ceremonies on KAMU-TV television (KAMU Broadcast & Satellite Coverage Map) and stream to the web for family and friends to view if unable to attend the ceremony.
